Sarita Jha
Sarita Jha, CFA is a private equity, investment banking, M&A, corporate finance and consulting professional with over 30+ years of experience, with a particular strength in hospitality and commercial real estate financing in Europe. She has a successful track record of closing complex transactions, executing from deal identification through the term sheet phase and finally to final documentation. Due to her versatile knowledge base, she provides bespoke advice and solutions to clients from restructuring to specialized analysis of equity and debt investments. In leveraging her background, she brings a unique blend of strategic insight, investment (financial, commercial, technical) analytic rigor, and experienced problem solving to any transaction delivering maximized value to all parties involved.
During her decade with UniCredit Principal Investments, Sarita was part of the Principal Investments’ team responsible for investing € 2 billion of the bank’s balance sheet allocated to private equity opportunities (direct, co-investments, and fund investments) in Europe across sectors including real estate. In addition to investing and management of the portfolio, her experience also includes comprehensive turnarounds during the 2008 financial crisis, involving daily operational management (CFO) as well as negotiating capital structure terms with shareholders and debt providers. As a principal investor, she served for several years as a board member to multiple companies and subsequently is proficient in corporate governance best practices and procedures, in particular during crisis management.
Sarita has executed and managed a number of due diligence processes, selecting a team of highly experienced and specialized experts (financial, legal, commercial and technical) to produce an integrated assessment. In addition, she has been engaged by a number of individual family offices and foundations, who are considering investments across sectors (real estate, manufacturing, technology, mining). On the client’s behalf, she conducts due diligence on specific target companies in order to provide a third-party, independent viewpoint to the client. The assessments include but not limited to: valuation, market, competitive analysis, management overview, and other topics.
She brings a strong European network of investors, advisors and businesses with a successful track record of executing business strategies and solving complex multi-dimensional turnarounds. She has worked over 17 years in Europe, including her time teaching economics with the Soros Foundation in Central and Eastern Europe.
Sarita is a CFA charter holder. She earned a M.A. degree from the Johns Hopkins University in International Relations and Economics, in Italy and Washington D.C., and a B.S. from California State University Long Beach in Business Administration. Sarita is based both in London and Los Angeles.
